medRxiv
medRxiv (pronounced "med-archive") is an open-access preprint server for the medical and health sciences.

medRxiv offers researchers a platform to spread unpublished manuscripts or data, whether complete or not, before formal peer review. This service is managed by openRxiv, a non-profit organization. It was originally established through a partnership between Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), Yale University, and BMJ, a global provider of health information.
Clinical researchers, epidemiologists, and medical scientists use this site to share preliminary results. The repository accepts original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and clinical study protocols. It does not host case reports, narrative reviews, or opinion text lacking data.
Unlike its counterpart bioRxiv, medRxiv uses a more rigorous screening process due to the potential impact of medical research on public health. Before a manuscript is posted online, the team checks for plagiarism, respect of ethical standards (such as ethics committee approval), proper clinical trial registration, and the absence of content that could pose a direct health risk. These checks do not constitute peer review. Each published article carries a prominent disclaimer advising readers that the information contained therein should neither guide clinical practice nor be reported by the media as established medical fact.
Once approved, manuscripts are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and become a permanent, citable part of the scientific record. Authors may publish revised versions at any time.
