Institute for Laboratory Animal Research

The "Institute for Laboratory Animal Research" known as ILAR is a "United States" organization. ILAR develops and shares a lot of information and especially important guidelines about animal testing and care of laboratory animals.

One of the main missions of ILAR is to evaluate and to report on the scientific, technological, and ethical use of laboratory animals and related biological resources, and of non-animal alternatives in non-food settings, such as research, testing, education, and production of pharmaceuticals.
ILAR seeks also to identify practices that provide for excellence in the welfare of animals used for these purposes, recognizing their moral value while achieving high-quality scientific data.
In August 2020, ILARD has published a booklet on Biodiversity available for the Public.
